Complex Components

Complex components are those parts known to have to use several different operations from several different manufacturing capabilities. All processes are maintained in order to flow through each operation with less interference and a high standard of quality. The bottom line reduced costs by having all operations under one roof and one control.

Heavy Gauge Components We can produce heavy gauge components using materials starting from .030" and above with simple to complex forms and designs. All components are completed through various manufacturing operations, which include Punch Presses, CNC Machining, Grinding, Heat Treating and welding.

Mechanical Components

We can design mechanical components requiring extra mechanical needs that are needed to support other parts. One example is our Tank Wheel design. Our present customer asked for a design that was lighter, but also needed to be nearly twice as strong as an existing model. The purpose was one of a highly mechanical need. The life of this wheel was dependant upon the mechanical design and mechanical strength of our design.

We have been involved with numerous customers to review, design and construct metal mechanical components with the intent to increase strength while reducing material usage. We are able to do this by means of Engineering expertise and tooling knowledge of ferrous and some non-ferrous material. We are able to design formed materials in different patterns that allow the use of thinner materials (less expensive) while at the same time increasing the overall strength.

As an example: the present tank wheel pictured needed to be reduced in overall weight while increasing the strength by over 50%.

We made some design changes for mechanical components and accomplished what this customer wanted. We can do it for you as well.

Deep Drawing Components

Our advantage in deep drawing/forming is thick gauge material. We are able to deep draw material up to .375" thick with very good size control, and with different kinds of geometry's.

 

Case Study - Strength Improvement

Metal Support Bracket Strength Improvement is one of Styberg's areas of expertise. In this case the design of a heavy duty mounting bracket needed to be reviewed. The original bracket was a three piece welded design. The Styberg Solution: A one-piece bracket that offers six times greater strength in critical target areas.

Styberg Bonus: Not only was the part stronger where it needed to be, but the streamlined process provided overall cost savings to the client.
